Getting there
Sarai Silk Route is in central Gilgit, within a kilometre of the centre. The nearest airport is Gilgit Airport, about 2.7 km away in a straight line.
In the mountains, travel time depends far more on the road than on the distance: landslides, snow and roadworks can close passes and slow the drive, so check road conditions before setting out. Rooms are big and spacious, owner is really considerate. Most of the rooms offer unforgettable views of Passu scones. I love every minute of the stay. The hotel is moderate, but views are worth beyond speaking. Simply memorable. Food in the restaurant is good and tasty, really you are well taken care of.
We were very pleased with our stay here. The room had lots of character, was immaculately clean, was spacious and had a nice deck and chair. We were a little disappointed in the breakfast, but overall this was a very solid choice.
