Lahore is the capital of Punjab and one of Pakistan's largest cities, with a historic core of walled-city lanes, Mughal monuments and colonial-era buildings spread around the old centre. Travellers usually stay in the central and southern districts, where most of the listed accommodation is concentrated, or near Allama Iqbal International Airport for short stopovers. The guide lists places to stay, mostly hotels, with some guest houses, serviced apartments and resorts and lodges. The airport lies about 6 km from central Lahore, so transfers are short.
